Grandpa Sam. Memories. Life Stories. Family History. Family Line Studios. Legacy Videos. Video Biography. Family Documentary. www.FamilyLineStudios.comIt wasn’t until my children asked about my Grandparents that I realized just how little I knew about their life story and our family history beyond a few names, dates and fragments of stories I could barely recall.

Like most, I had a box of old family photos tucked away somewhere, but these images alone (most unlabeled!) would never reveal the full and significant lives my grandparents had led or their contribution to our family story.

Memories with Grandpa. Susan Saunders, video biographer. As with any of us, they had dreams, faced hardships and celebrated success. Sadly, we had missed our opportunity to capture their stories, their legacy, so we could know the many ways in which their experiences and decisions affected who they were and how they helped shape who we are today.

Those stories are now lost forever.

From a place of regret, I decided to help others capture and preserve their own life stories, family history and legacy, but to do it in a way that would go beyond the standard photo album, family tree or written journal – in a way that would capture personality, nuance and voice, offering a more personal connection between generations.

Susan editing legacy video, video biography, video memoir, personal autobiography, family documentary videos. The answer: a moving portrait – an autobiography or biography on video that would skillfully weave together a sensitively filmed interview with family photos, documents, maps and other memorabilia to bring stories and family history to life. Titles, transitions, music, and special effects such as zooming and panning would also be added throughout.

This richly woven Legacy Video would capture personality, nuance and voice along with the many wonderful stories, life lessons and priceless information so important to a family’s identity and heritage. Whether focused on an individual, couple or an entire family, a video biography or family documentary is modern day heirloom that would connect generations for years to come.
